This project was devised, managed and produced by Pilot Studios for Yesterday’s World Museums in Battle, East Sussex and Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
The concept was to create two permanent exhibitions to house a vast collection of Royal memorabilia accumulated from many years of collecting. Plus an educational audio visual display area for schools and the general public, which would give an insight into life during the reign of Queen Victoria.
The audio visual display area incorporates two 46 inch LCD displays, one in the form of a talking portrait of Queen Victoria who ‘holds an audience’ with her subjects, and tells you all about her life and times, her Royal Lineage, the lives of Victorian children and the Inventions and new developments during her reign, plus an insight into the local history of both Battle and Great Yarmouth respectively, during the Victorian era.
The second screen gives a visual presentation of the subjects being described using CGI graphics, animation, stills photographs and specially created film action with music, sounds and effects, activated by a unique touch-screen control system.
The specially commissioned display cabinets were individually designed and constructed to house the royal items, and help to give a regal and sumptuous environment for the exhibition and collections.
